Try These Fresh Summer Smoothie Bowls

For those of us who lead busy lifestyles, finding nutritional foods to eat on the go can be a daily challenge. While there are many grab-and-go foods to choose from, many of them contain artificial ingredients and additives. Luckily, there are healthful alternatives filled with natural fruits, vegetables, and flavors; meet the “smoothie bowl”, a delicious and health-sustaining treat that can be eaten anywhere and at any time. Smoothie bowls are similar to blended smoothie drinks, but are eaten with a spoon. These concoctions start off with a flavorful and nutritional base, then toppings are added to give the smoothie bowl the delicious look and flavors we all crave.

Smoothie bowls are easy to prepare and are packed with nutrition – a perfect way to support a healthy and active life. Here are two of our favorite smoothie bowl recipes, each containing organic ingredients which are free of chemical pesticides and fertilizer residues.

Very Berry Smoothie Bowl

Summertime fruits are the key to this delicious smoothie bowl. In the warm weather months, organic berries are readily available at farmer’s markets and grocery stores across the country. In winter, frozen berry varieties can be substituted, providing a taste of summer anytime you wish. Our Very Berry smoothie bowl contains YOR Shake powder, a protein-rich supplement that is gluten-free, and all-natural.

Ingredients for the bowl base:

  • 1 cup fresh organic berries (in season; may substitute frozen berries out of season)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ¼ cup fresh organic spinach (may substitute frozen)
  • 1 cup organic almond milk
  • ¼ cup chia seeds
  • 3 scoops vanilla YOR Shake powder


  • Organic strawberries, sliced
  • Coconut flakes
  • Organic goji berries (may substitute blueberries)
  • Roasted almond slivers

Combine the base ingredients together in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a bowl, then add desired toppings. You may substitute other toppings, such as sunflower seeds, raspberries, or even organic granola. This smoothie bowl can be taken with you and eaten anywhere you need a delicious pick-me-up.

Mermaid Smoothie Bowl

Bright green in color and packed with minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants, the Mermaid smoothie bowl can be enjoyed any time of the day, but is a particular good choice after a strenuous workout. The key to this delicious bowl is the YOR Supergreens powder, which contains green superfoods, natural fruit and vegetable extracts, and probiotics to support recovery after exercise. To achieve the vibrant green color in the finished bowl, the ratio of one banana to two tablespoons of YOR Supergreens is used. Frozen fruits are used in the smoothie bowl and in the toppings to give the finished product a cooling, delicious flavor. If desired, fresh toppings may be substituted.

  • ½ dragonfruit, chopped into 1-inch cubes

Combine the base ingredients in a blender and process until a smooth consistency is reached. Then, pour into a bowl and add the toppings. Our topping list is only a suggestion; add your own to mix things up, like goji berries, chia seeds, or granola. Serve and enjoy!
